ВВЕДЕНИЕ

Игра «Lore Monopoly» представляет собой дидактическую игру, т.е. вид учебных занятий, организуемых в виде учебных игр, реализующих ряд принципов игрового, активного обучения и отличающихся наличием правил, фиксированной структуры игровой деятельности и системы оценивания. Дидактическая игра является одним из методов активного обучения и представляет собой такую коллективную, целенаправленную учебную деятельность, когда каждый участник и команда в целом объединены решением главной задачи и ориентируют свое поведение на выигрыш. Особенностью дидактических игр является наличие игровой ситуации, которая обычно используется в качестве основы метода. Деятельность участников в игре формализована, то есть имеются правила, жесткая система оценивания, предусмотрен порядок действий, регламент.

Помимо вышеперечисленных элементов дидактической, также имеются некоторые черты деловой игры, такие как распределение ролей между участниками игры, наличие управляемого эмоционального напряжения, многоальтернативность решений и частичное моделирование процессов профессиональной деятельности, что позволяет назвать ее дидактической игрой с элементами деловой игры.

Данная учебно-методическая разработка предназначена для проведения практических занятий по английскому языку со студентами II курса КГФЭИ и является способом контроля усвоения лексического и грамматического материала. В процессе игры моделируются ситуации делового общения, включающие решение текущих проблем, связанных с ситуацией на рынке (курс акций, курс валюты, купля-продажа недвижимости, долгосрочные и краткосрочные сделки, получение прибыли или убытка). Данные ситуации подразумевают активное использование деловой лексики, а также изученных грамматических структур и речевых клише.

Дидактическая игра с элементами деловой игры «Lore Monopoly» является вариативной, так как позволяет использовать тот учебный материал, который соответствует изучаемой теме и является эффективным средством контроля усвоения студентами полученных знаний по следующим темам: “Типы коммерческих предприятий”, “Совместные предприятия”, “Маркетинг”, “Менеджмент”, “Банковское дело”, “Биржи”, “Бухгалтерский учет”, “Международная торговля”.

УМР содержит объяснение хода игры, предназначенное для преподавателя, который затем разъясняет его студентам.

Данная игра рекомендована к применению в конце изучения темы для фиксации усвоения учебного материала студентами в рамках заключительного занятия по теме.

Содержание данной разработки соответствует требованиям Государственного образовательного стандарта, а также учебной программе по предмету «Английский язык».

A brief description and the rule of the game
LORE MONOPOLY” board-game is an economic game, intended for second-year students to fix and generalize their knowledge of Economics. It is developed according to the sample of MONOPOLY game, which has been created in America during the times of Great Depression. What is more, students learn how to earn and spend, share the profit, borrow and loan their money in a proper way, using their knowledge of Economics.

Brief description of the game.

The game contains one playing field, 6 playing counters, 40-45 Question cards, 5 Chance cards, 5 Profit cards, “Pay for Advertising” and “Pay for Electricity” cards 5 per each section; 1 set of special currency for the game and 1 playing dice.

The LORE MONOPOLY game is intended for 5-6 couple of students, who are representatives of different companies. For example:

  5. Mc Donald’s

  6. Spurt Bank

One of the students is supposed to be a banker,1 who gives money and takes it from other participants according to their answers.

The rules of the game.

Before starting the game, each group of participants gets their own starting capital of $700 to be able to play.



At the beginning of the game the participants put their counters on START section, and turn for making steps is determined by the banker.

  • If they get to the Blank section with some picture on it, they are to take one of the Question cards, read a task on it aloud and then give an answer. For each correct answer, the bank worker pays the participants $10. If they give an incomplete answer, he must pay them just $5. But if they give a wrong answer or do not know it at all, they are to pay even $10 to the bank.

  • If the participants get to the Chance section, they must take out one of the Chance cards with a certain question on it, and ask the given information any competitor they like. If he gives a correct answer, the participant moves 1 step forward, but if the competitor gives an incomplete answer or even a wrong one, he stays at the same place.

  • If the students get to the Profit section, the bank worker should pay them a certain sum according to the card they take out.

  • If the competitors find themselves in “Pay for Advertising” or “Pay for Electricity” sections, they must pay an assigned sum of money, indicated in their cards, to the bank.

  • If the students come across the Bankruptcy section, they are obliged to return all their money to the bank and move to the Debts’ Hole section. They must stay there till their next turn, and they can make their further steps only if their answer is correct. The game can be over in different ways:

  1. the winner can be the group of players, who’s come to the Finish section first.

  2. three groups of players, who’ve come to the Finish section first, and those who have the biggest final capital are supposed to be the winners.

  3. if the time of the lesson is up, all the participants count their money, and the group with the biggest final capital is supposed to be the winner.

Types of Promotion

  • Direct mailing is sending product or service information by post to specific individuals or companies.

  • Direct selling is a selling technique based on making a personal call to an individual or company.

  • In-store promotion is a promotion based on advertising in the actual shop.

  • On-pack promotion is a promotion method that involves the packaging of a product, such as including a free sample or coupons.

  • Perimeter advertising is advertising around the playing area at sports grounds.

  • BOGOF is a promotion method for fast moving consumer goods which involves buying one and getting one free.

  • Online advertising is promoting your activities or your company and its products or services on the Internet.

  • Cold calling is telephoning direct to homes or businesses to try to interest people in your products or services.


Types of Market Segmentation

  • Geographic segmentation is based on regional variables as region climate population on density or population growth, rate and etc.

  • Behavioristic segmentation is based on such variables as usage rate and patterns, price sensitivity, brand loyalty, benefits sought.

  • Benefits segmentation is based on such variables as product characteristics, product performance.

  • Industrial market segmentation is based on such items like turnover, type and size of a company.


Three more P’s of MARKETING

  • People, or everyone involved from producer to consumer.

  • Physical evidence, or anything that shows the existence of the company, e.g. its buildings, vehicles, website, stationery, staff uniforms, badges.

  • Process, which is the interaction between everyone involved.

  • An offer to do a job or provide goods or services for a particular price, usually as part of competition between several companies for the same work. (Tender)

  • A person or company that is paid by another person to represent them in business. (Agent)
